Devices For Heat Recovery From Heating of Hot Flame Gassess Flow Out From Stack

The Economizer for heat recovery from the hot flame gases flow out from the stacks of Steam, Hot Water Superheated Water and Thermal Oil Boilers.

The advantages of heating from flame gasses flow out from stack can be used for heating boiler feed water, process hot water, hot water for cleaning.

ECONOMIZER DEVICE (TYPE G-ECO)

The temperature of boiler feed water or process water is increased and it saves 2-5% fuel saving by providing heat recovery from stack gases in steam boilers with a steam production capacity of 500 kg/h on more.

In the steam boilers using liquid fuel / natural gas, the temperature of flame gases leaving the boiler and going to the stack, will be “Steam temperature + (50-100) °C” depending on the structure of the boiler. For example: Tjhe steam temperature is 164 °C in a steam boiler producing 6 atü steam so the temperature of flame gas leaving the boiler is about 214-264 °C. Furthermore the temperature of flame gas leaving the boiler in a steam boiler producing 12 atü steam is about 250-300 °C in thermal oil boilers the temperature of flame gas glowing into stack is 300-350 °C in response to 300 °C thermal oil temperature.

Gowever, the temperature of flowing flame gas leaving the boiler can be reduced to 160 °C with fuel oil burning and 130 °C with natural gas burnin without causing the risk of low-temperature corrosion. (The flowing flame gas temperature leaving the boiler can be reduced to less than 50 °C in the condensing economizer made of corrosion-resistant stainiess steal in gas-fired boilers).

By  the way, up to 5% fuel can be saved by using the heat of the flame gas flow out into stack. In order to enable this, with the ECONOMIZER device to be placed back side of the boiler while the temperature of the feding water pumped through feding pump into the boiler rises, the temperature of the flame gas flow into the stack is ddeccreased and some amount of heat is recovered. It should not be forgotten that every 5 ° C increase in the temperature of the feding water provides 1% fuel savings.

In other words, every 20 °C decrease in the temperature of the hot flame gases flow into the stack provides about 1% fuel saving (in the gas-fired boilers, this value becomes even more by condensing the vapor in the flame gas). Since the temperature of the hot flame gases flow into the stack grom steam boilers is 300 °C, 350 °C in thermal oil boilers, 650 °C in cupol ovens, 900 °C in reheating furnaces, 600 °C in diesel engines, 750 °C in glass melting furnaces, 900 °C in cement ovens and etc, it has becıme inevitable to produce hot water and steam by taking advantage of the hot gases glow out from this stacks of industrial facilities. It should not be forgotten that every 20 °C temperature decrease in flame gases provides about 1% fuel savings. And this is an important value that cannot be neglected.

Despending on the capacity of the plant, the capacity of the boiler the usage time of the boiler, the burned fuel,  the temperature of the flame gas glow out from the stack:

  • The amortization period for the heat recovery investment varies between 6 and 8 months in non-condensing economizers.
  • This period varies from 9 to 12 months in condensing economizers
